Reliance Jio Tops 4G Download Speed Chart and Vodafone in Upload in February: TRAI

Reliance Jio continues to lead in the average 4G download speed chart published by telecom regulator TRAI for February 2020

Reliance Jio achieved 21.5 Mbps average download speed in the month of February 2020, witnessing an improvement from 20.9 Mbps in January 2020, according to the data published by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Reliance Jio has been the fastest 4G operator for the last two consecutive years with the highest average download speed every month. The performance of Bharti Airtel also marginally improved in February to 8.0 Mbps from 7.9 Mbps in January, according to TRAI.

Though Vodafone and Idea Cellular have merged their businesses and now operate as Vodafone Idea, TRAI published their network performance separately. Vodafone network registered 8.0 Mbps average download speed in February, an improvement from 7.6 Mbps in January.

The average download speed of Idea declined from 6.5Mbps in the month of January to 6.3Mbps in February. Vodafone topped the average 4G upload speed chart with 6.5 Mbps in February, an improvement from 6.0 Mbps in the month of January.

Idea and Airtel network registered 5.5 Mbps and 3.7 Mbps average upload speed, respectively, in February, while Reliance Jio achieved an average upload speed of 3.9Mbps. The average speed is computed by TRAI based on data it collects with the help of its MySpeed application on a real-time basis.
