Reliance Jio Introduces New All-in-One Plans, Increases Tariffs By Up To 40 Percent

Reliance Jio new all-in-one plans will be priced up to 40 percent higher but will provide up to 300% more benefits, says the company

After Airtel and Vodafone announced their intent to raise call tariffs by over 40 percent from the first week of December Reliance Jio too has made a similar announcement. Reliance Jio will be introducing new all-in-one plans with unlimited voice and data. These plans will have a fair usage policy for calls to other mobile networks. The new plans will be effective from 6 December 2019, says a statement from the company.

“Jio is determined to: 1. Strengthen the telecom sector, 2. At all times, keep consumers at the center of everything, and 3. Benefit Indian consumers and take measures including appropriate increase in tariffs in a manner that does not adversely impact data consumption or growth in digital adoption and sustains investments,” says Reliance Jio.

“Although, the new all-in-one plans will be priced up to 40 percent higher, staying true to its promise of being customer-first, Jio customers will get up to 300 percent more benefits,” adds the statement by the company.

Earlier today, Bharti Airtel announced its revised tariff plans for its mobile customers. These tariffs will be applicable from Tuesday, 3 December 2019. Customers will now have to shell out 42 percent more for unlimited plans. “"Airtel's new plans, represent tariff increases in the range of a mere 50 paise per day to Rs 2.85 per day and offer generous data and calling benefits," said a statement from the company.

Similarly, Vodafone Idea too announced a similar hike of 42 percent. “Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), India's leading telecom service provider, today announced new tariffs/plans for its prepaid products and services. New plans will be available across India starting 00:00 hours of 3 December 2019," said the company in a statement.
