Reliance Jio has announced that JioPhone users would get 100 minutes of calls and 100 SMSes for free until 17 April 2020 keeping in view the Coronavirus situation in India. Jio says that although it has a substantially high percentage of users that recharge online for themselves, as well as for their friends, family and near-and-dear ones, JioPhone users were unable to recharge when they needed it the most.

“For those who recharge through the physical retail stores, and have faced issues due to the current lockdown, Jio has provided alternative channels to recharge, such as UPI, ATM, SMS, Call, etc. But Jio recognizes, that despite the above initiatives, some JioPhone users are still unable to recharge and need it the most, especially during such important times,” said a statement from Reliance Jio.

What Reliance Jio is Offering for its JioPhone Users

  • 100 minutes of calls and 100 SMS free, anywhere in the country, till 17 April 2020
  • All JioPhone users will continue to receive incoming calls post validity

Recently, Reliance Jio announced measures for its mobile users as well as JioFiber customers. While mobile users can avail double data and additional non-Jio talktime on 4G data vouchers of Rs 11, Rs 21, Rs 51 and Rs 101, which now come with 800 MB, 2GB, 6GB and 12 GB of high-speed data; JioFiber users will also get double data.

“To ensure that everyone stays connected while at home, Jio will provide Basic JioFiber broadband connectivity (10 Mbps), wherever it is geographically feasible, without any service charges, for this period. Jio will also provide home gateway routers with a minimum refundable deposit. For all existing JioFiber subscribers, Jio will provide double data across all plans,” said a statement from the company.
