Slackened domestic demand and price drops across the hardware segment saw the
revenues of this Mumbai-based peripherals distributor fall by 14.2%. Lower
margins on most product lines also saw profit dipping 46 %. At a time when Tier
II distribution as a model itself is under pressure, companies like Savex have
to rely on strong brands that have lot of market pull. Samsung was one such
brand, which saved the company by giving it 98.5% of overall revenues. Other
brands sold are Mercury, Canon, Viewsonic, Acer, LanBit, and 3Com.
