Mascon Global posted revenues of Rs 310 crore in fiscal 2001-02–representing
a decline of 9% over the revenues bokked in the previous year. The economic
recession and the tech-led slowdown affected the company because of its
US-centric client base. To improve its performance in the coming year, the
company is hardselling its offshore infrastructure in India to clients based in
the US, for this offers a strong value proposition. A significant event during
the year was the company’s multi-year contract with Lucent Technologies and
the launch of an Asia-Pacific technology center for Commworks in Bangalore. The
company also expanded its reach by setting up offices in Mexico, Germany and
Chile.
