New Update

It does not really come as a surprise that this year too Genpact has managed
to retain its place among the top five. However, one expected the company to try
a different approach (an increased focus on communication and deeper employee
engagement) to climb further up the ranks, but Genpact was content going along
just the way it is.

Good or bad we cant say yet, but the underlying fact is that Genpact
somewhere did take its high brand recall value for granted. Whether it was
salary, compensation, perks and benefits, Genpact nowhere matched industry
standards. And the company doesnt seem to mind.

Genpact claims that on the compensation parameter, it did like to stay
somewhere in the middle, and not lead the pack. It wants to focus on training,
career growth and nurturing talent. Unfortunately, on the training parameter
too, Genpacts performance was not impressive. The employees seem to be
dissatisfied on the job content as well, with the company staying at #15 there.

On the people front, the company needs to improve a bit. As a matter of fact,
in a tougher environment, while Genpact did redefine the competency levels that
it expected from its leadership such as incorporating traits like decision
making, taking risks, and so onit just wasnt enough. Genpact at present boasts
of more than 800 AVPs, 450 VPs, and 50 SVPs globally. Most of these people have
grown with the company.

In fact, the company still continues with its Genpact Operating Leadership
Development (GOLD) program, introduced about three years back as an intensive
eighteen month program for creating operational leaders, something the rest of
the IT and BPO industry has just started to talk about.

In a tough year, though overall the company grew, it did face issues when it
came to managing its workforce. Lots of measures were taken to control costs,
which created unrest among employees. Increments were not as high as other
industry players while offsite stays were also drastically cut down.
