For the last two years, this Delhi based institute had the honor of placing a
student with the highest salarythe reputation gained is standing Netaji Subhash
Institute of Technology (NSIT) in good stead. Its #2 rank in placement (that
places it above almost all the IITs too) should have naturally made it a
candidate to break the IIT hegemony at the top. Unfortunately, it slips up
appreciably on almost all other parameters#49 in academic environment, #33 in
industry perception, #40 in HR perception, and a slightly better #21 in
infrastructure meant NSIT not even remaining in the Top10 this time.
The placement statistics of NSIT in 2009 justifies its high rank. Out of 664
offers, 460 were acceptedmeaning a higher 70% placementbetter than most
engineering colleges. Almost all major companies were visiting the campus
including PSUs like the Indian Oil and DRDO who came visiting NSIT in 2009.
Other than placement, even on infrastructure NSIT scored fairly well. Therefore,
its low score on HR perception comes across as a paradox.
