The name change in branding identity (from MphasiS to MphasiS, an HP company)
buoyed a bit for the company as it saw a slight increase in revenues on a y-o-y
basis. There was a stellar growth with the growth of its business coming from HP
as well as direct customers.
Although the year started off with a bumpy ride due to pricing, overall
revenues increased slightly from Rs 3,299 crore in FY09 (May 08-April09) to Rs
3,920 crore in FY10 (May 09-April 10), excluding BPO revenues. Considering that
most export services firms suffered, it was a fairly creditable performance by
MphasiS. The geograhical revenue mix did not change much as US continued to
contribute the most of the revenues (at around 65%) followed by Europe (20%) and
APAC (15%). Vertical-wise too, traditional domain BFSI continued to be the forte
for the company as it garnered almost 40% of the revenues, followed by
technology, logistics and transportation, and manufacturing and retail. There
were also some major wins in the telecom vertical. In healthcare vertical also
some major activities, with MphasiS securing three major customers on the
Javelina platform.
MphasiS added sixteen new clients, thirteen mainly being in partnership with
HP which includes a North American global food processing company, a European
healthcare service provider, and a large insurance group in the UK. From
vertical perspective, BFSI continued to be a major contributor to the overall
pie, contributing 38-44% of the total revenues. The company also entered into
strategic alliances with two software vendors to deliver key services through
business process management. It launched a global command and control center in
Pune to strengthen its infrastructure outsourcing capabilities.
