Bangalore-based Informatics India was founded in 1980 and pioneered the
electronic information business by being the first to introduce and market the
concepts of on-line and CD-ROM databases in the late eighties. The company
notched up revenues of Rs 25.4 crore in fiscal 2001-02, up 1.68% from Rs 24.98
crore. Exports contributed less than Rs 1 crore to revenues. The fourth quarter
saw a leap in billings, which accounted for the final figure.
