New Update

Clearly, freeze on increments and changes in variable component did not go
down well with the employees. The employees were also appreciative of the fact
that their special initiatives and efforts were taken care of during the
appraisal process, apart from the relevancy of the appraisal parameters. Another
reason, according to company, about good appraisal feedback is that the company
has never treated the work done by their employees as lower skilled contrary
to popular perception. The company is also of the view that the implementation
of best practices of its IT services parent TCS into its BPO arm, has gone down
well with its employees.

Advertisment

What emerged as an important concern is training. Employees, according to the
survey, had a feeling that training was not relevant to their work and also that
it did not help in their professional and personal growth. This, according to
the company, is a perception issue as TCS BPO provides common training to agents
when they join and depending on their projects they are provided domain specific
training.
