Sasung Electronics' Country Head - Mobile and IT Ranjit Yadav has put in his papers and is serving the notice period till end of this month. Yadav drove the company's mobile phone business to newer heights placing the company at No. 1 spot in the smartphone race. In overall mobile marketshare, Samsung today boasts of nearly 30% marketshare which used to be in signle digits in 2008 when Yadav had joined the company.

Yadav was last seen on 31 August in a press conference in New Delhi when Samsung unvieled a new range of ultrabooks in India. Dataquest was aware of the movement even then. But Yadav's appearance at an important press launch put us in doubts of his probable retention by the company.

Given the market scenario, Yadav has decided to leave the company at a critical moment when the corporates suffering from slow demand are keenly looking for talent to rejuvenate their business. While speculations are rife where Yadav could take charge, it is not clear where he has joined. But reports are taking rounds that he might join either Tata Motors' Jaguar business or Apple India.
