PUBG Mobile, one the most widely played games across the world, seems to be down temporarily. The popular mobile battle royale game, Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile surpassed 20 million daily active users and nearly one billion matches played in previous season. Such is the popularity of the game that fans are anxious as to why the game is down for even a few hours.
“Me and my friends facing problem in PUBG is there any server issues in India?” asks an anxious layer Ruchin Patel on Twitter. “When PUBG servers are down and you think of all the good times you had playing it,” tweets another user.
However, PUBG Mobile has tweeted on its official account that PUBG MOBILE will be taken offline for maintenance from 12AM to 8AM (UTC) on February 18th and the service may resume sooner or later than the stated time. This translates to about 11:00 am to roughly 2:00 pm IST, where players might not be able to access PUBG Mobile in India.
Rumours doing the round also suggest the PUBG Mobile may have gone down for a new patch update. Also, PUBG Mobile official account has teased some new updates that may make their way to the popular mobile battle royale game. “The battlegrounds will never be the same,” says a tweet from the official PUBG Mobile account along with pictures of Zombies.
Tencent Games, the developers of the popular mobile game, recently released impressive statistics for PUBG Mobile, as the game continues to dominate the mobile market with more than 20 million daily active users (not including Japan, Korea and China). In Season 2, the previous 14-week period of games, more than 130 million players from more than 200 countries earned themselves 864,425,575 chicken dinners, as per the data released.
PUBG has become highly popular in India within just a year of its release. It is one of the highest grossing apps on Google Play and the number one gaming app on iOS. PUBG has millions of daily active users across the world, and India is one of the top three countries that plays the game.
