TeNeT Group of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras plans to launch an IT
solution for micro finance institutions (MFI), a move that promises to reduce
transaction costs in this segment. Such costs contribute to about half of
interest rates charged on microcredit.

Pramati Launches Dekoh

Pramati Technologies has announced a public alpha of open source Rich Internet
Applications platform based on Java Dekoh Desktop. It is a small footprint
download that can be installed on the user's desktop, and includes a personal
Web server as well.

TI Drives HD VoIP

Texas Instruments (TI) has announced technology enhancements that redefine
its extensive VoIP solutions portfolio, driving voice applications even closer
to a high-definition (HD) experience. TI would license the Low Delay AAC super
wideband codec from the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS.

ASUS's All-in-One Home Gateway

ASUS Technology (ASUS) has launched the WL-600g, an all-in-one device that
incorporates ADSL modem, wireless router, ftp/printer server functions. A UPnP
IGD compliant device, WL-600g allows devices within the WLAN to share the same
IP address and simultaneously play online games and use IP phones.

Plustek has launched PlusServer MFA1000S, a multi-function server for home and
