Pradeep Gupta, Chairman and MD, CyberMedia Group Conferred with Honorary Doctorate by Rai University

Pradeep Gupta has been bestowed upon with this doctorate to recognise his immense contribution to the fields of education, entrepreneurship and mentoring

Pradeep Gupta, chairman and managing director, CyberMedia Group has been awarded the prestigious Doctor of Philosophy for his outstanding contributions to various fields. The doctorate has been conferred by Rai University at a special convocation ceremony held on 30 December 2022. The citation reads:

“The Board of Management and Academic  Council of Rai University determined that Mr Pradeep Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, CyberMedia Group, be awarded the Doctor of Philosophy, Honoris Causa for his outstanding contributions in the field of education, entrepreneurship and mentoring. It is a great honour to our university and to the current and future graduands that he has accepted this award.

He is an IIT, and IIM alumnus, and a highly reputed personality in the IT Industry. He is the co-founder of the Indian Angel Network. He is/was the chair/board member of the IIT Alumni Trust, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, IIT Mandi, IIT Delhi Incubator, Indian Newspaper Society, UTI AMC and UTI Capital. He was a global trustee of TiE, the world’s largest entrepreneurial ecosystem. He has been the past President of PanIIT India and Association of Indian Magazines. He is also involved in various community development work and has been awarded Helen Keller award for working in the disability sector. He has been conferred the Best Mentor for his role and contribution to mentoring entrepreneurs in the private sector at the National Entrepreneurship Awards 2016, instituted by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.”

About Dr Pradeep Gupta

Dr Pradeep Gupta is a first generation entrepreneur who along with his family members founded CyberMedia, a speciality media  in 1982. He has a BTech degree from IIT Delhi (1975) and an MBA degree from IIM Calcutta. Dr Gupta is also an Angel Investor and has mentored over 250 startups till date. Apart from that, he is also on the Investment Management Committee of the 10,000 crore Fund of Funds set up by the Government of India and is also the Chief Mentor of Electropreneur Park, in Delhi and Bhubaneshwar.
