Powergrid Invites Applications from Engineers for 35 Diploma Trainee Vacancies, Stipend Rs 27,500

Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has invited applications from engineers for 35 diploma trainee vacancies. The positions are available in the Southern Region Transmission System II, which is Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry as well as the Raigarh-Pugalur HVDC Project. Applicants will have to give a written or computer-based test, on the basis of which they will be shortlisted for the posts. Candidates selected for the Diploma Trainee vacancies will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 27,500, and upon regularization, they will be placed as Junior Engineer Grade IV at S1 level in the supervisory category in the pay scale of Rs 25,000-3%-1,17,500.

Who Can Apply for Powergrid Vacancies?

The notification issued on the Powergrid website says that there are a total of 35 Diploma Trainee vacancies for Electrical engineers, for which candidates with a full time regular three years diploma from a recognized technical board or institute with minimum 70% marks for General, OBC (NCL) or EWS candidates and pass marks for SC, ST, PWD or Ex-SM from the following streams can apply:

• Electrical engineering.
• Electrical (power) engineering.
• Electrical and electronics engineering.
• Power systems engineering.
• Power engineering (electrical).

Candidates with higher technical qualifications like BTech, BE, MTech or ME with or without diplomas are not eligible to apply. The age limit to apply for the vacancies is 27 years for UR and EWS, 30 years for OBC (NCL), and 32 years for SC or ST. The appointment of selected candidates will be subject to having sound health and being found medically fit in the pre-employment medical examination.

How to Apply for Powergrid Vacancies?

Interested and eligible candidates would be required to apply only through the online registration system of the Powergrid website. The last date to submit online applications would be 29 June 2021 by 11:59 pm. Some of the documents that will be needed are scanned copy of recent passport size color photograph, signature in JPG format, certificates in support of Date of Birth, SSLC, HSC, essential qualification, percentage of marks obtained, experience, caste certificate, PwD certificate, and so on. Applicants are advised to go through the official notification in detail prior to submitting applications.
