Powergrid has invited applications from engineers for vacancies available at its Northern Region-III covering the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh. There are a total of 20 Diploma Trainee vacancies for which civil and electrical engineers can apply. Those selected will initially be engaged as Diploma Trainees wherein they will receive a stipend of Rs 27,500, after which they will be absorbed as Junior Engineer Grade IV at S1 Level in Supervisory category wherein they will be paid a salary of up to Rs 1,17,500.

Who Can Apply for Powergrid Recruitment?

The latest notification from Powergrid says that there are a total of 20 vacancies out of which 15 are for electrical engineers and 5 are for civil engineers. Candidates with a full time regular three years diploma from a recognized technical board or institute with minimum 70% marks for General, OBC (NCL) or EWS candidates and pass marks for SC, ST, PWD or Ex-SM from the following streams can apply for the diploma trainee vacancies:

  • Electrical engineering.
  • Electrical (power) engineering.
  • Electrical and electronics engineering.
  • Power systems engineering.
  • Power engineering (electrical).
  • Civil engineering.

How Will Candidates be Selected for Powergrid Recruitment?

Applicants will be selected based on their performance in a computer-based that will be conducted. The computer-based test will be of objective type of two hours duration consisting of two parts, and each question will have four options. Part I consists of a technical knowledge test or professional knowledge test with 120 questions having specific questions from respective disciplines, and Part II consists of an aptitude test with 50 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, data sufficiency, and interpretation, and numerical ability.

How to Apply for Powergrid Recruitment?

Interested applicants will have to submit online applications on the official website before 8 July 2021. Applicants need to have a valid e-mail ID, alternate e-mail ID and mobile number. Also, an online application fee of Rs 300 needs to be paid; however, there is no application fee for SC, ST, PwD, Ex-SM, DEx-SM or Departmental candidates.
