Powergrid has announced 42 new vacancies for engineers available at its Northern Region-II at Jammu, which has its transmission jurisdiction in the union territories and states of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and part of Haryana. Candidates will initially be engaged as diploma trainees and will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 27,500, and they will then be hired as Junior Engineers and placed in the pay scale of Rs 25,000 to 117500.

Who Can Apply for Powergrid Recruitment?

The official Powergrid notification says that there are a total of 42 vacancies for Civil and electrical engineers for which candidates with a full time regular three years diploma from a recognized technical board or institute with minimum of 70% marks for General, OBC (NCL) or EWS candidates and pass marks for SC, ST, PWD or Ex-SM from the following streams can apply:

  • Electrical engineering.
  • Electrical (power) engineering.
  • Electrical and electronics engineering.
  • Power systems engineering.
  • Power engineering (electrical).
  • Civil Engineering

Candidates selected for the post will be required to execute a Service Agreement Bond of Rs 2,50,000 for General, OBC (NCL) and EWS candidates and Rs 1,25,000 for SC, ST or PwD candidates for serving Powergrid for a minimum period of three years after successful completion of training.

How to Apply for Powergrid Recruitment?

Candidates who meet the desired eligibility criteria will have to submit online applications on the official website before 12 July. Applicants need to have a valid e-mail ID, alternate e-mail ID and mobile number. Furthermore, an online application fee of Rs 300 needs to be paid; however, there is no application fee for SC, ST, PwD, Ex-SM, DEx-SM or Departmental candidates. Interested applicants are advised to go through the official notification in detail prior to submitting online applications.
