“Sir, I donated Rs.10,000/- towards PM CARES through SBI which was given to me by SBI in their e-mail. Though I received a payment acknowledgement from the bank, it does not have any remarks about the purpose of the donation and to which account it was remitted. I cannot use this receipt for my IT exemption. I therefore request you to kindly issue me an official Receipt by PM CARES immediately please,” said PK Menon on DataQuest.

Donors need to note that receipts will be available for download under the “Print Receipts” tab at the official website: pmcares.gov.in. The receipts can be availed by providing the transaction order number and mobile phone number of the donor. However, as most users are now complaining of an Error and the portal not having their transaction data, donors need to note that it may take up to 30 days after the donation to obtain a receipt.

If your transaction is done through NEFT/RTGS/IMPS, the transaction would be updated based on the statement received from the concerned banks. The receipts can be generated only after this. This might take at least 30days. If your transaction is by Cheque the transaction would be updated from the bank to PM CARES. However, the payee details would be updated only if the cheque for PM CARES is presented in the same bank. If the cheque is presented in another bank, the payee details would not be updated by the bank. In such cases, the receipt can be obtained only by updating your Name, email ID, Amount etc. with cheque number and amount in the receipt generator module. The module will match the cheque number and amount and issue the receipt. This might take at least 30days,” says the PM-CARES portal in the FAQ section.
