IIT Mandi just completed its phase 1 campus placement for 2022-23. So far, 249 students have been placed, with 70 receiving pre-placement offers with an average income of 25.23 lahks per year. More than 85 firms took part in this placement procedure, and 140 national and international companies have registered with the institution.
So far, IIT Mandi has received 90 worldwide proposals, with prominent businesses such as Uber, Amazon, Walmart, and Oracle among those that have expressed interest.
Previous placements
IIT Mandi has seen an increase in placements, particularly in the last three years — 2020, 2021, and 2022. In 2018, 29 students were eligible for placement, with 24 being placed (even though 26 offers were made). In 2019, the number was reduced to 16, with 15 students receiving offers and ten being placed. Despite declining students, the average income grew from 8.79 LPA to 14.35 LPA in 2019.
Overall rankings
The institute got 249 employment offers from 88 organisations during the first round of placement for 2022-23, which took place in December 2022, including 70 pre-placement offers. There were 19 foreign offers, including those from Accenture Japan, Denso, Rakuten, and Nohara Holdings, Inc.
Compared to the previous year, there has been a rise of more than 18% in average CTC and 24% in a median of 26 lakh, with the most prominent domestic package of over 60 lakhs to date.
The top recruiters were Oracle, Indeed, Flipkart, Microsoft, Tata 1mg, Uber, Amazon, Walmart, Samsung Research Institute Bangalore, ODE, ICICI bank, HDFC, Hitachi, L&T, HoneyWell, Western Digital, AMD, EXL Service, Evalueserve, Trilogy, Cashfree, Adobe, Paytm, Rakuten, Zomato, Sprinklr, Schrodinger, Merilytics, Jaguar Land Rover, Maruti Suzuki, Mercedes Benz, Adverb, LTI, GE, Ceremorphic, etc. and PSUs including C DOT, and HPCL, among others.
Offers and perks for internships
The mandatory internship programme was temporarily halted due to Covid-19 but resumed in the 2022-23 term. "The majority of students are looking for 2M/6M internships. So far, 150 students have landed internships, "According to the institute.
