For Philips Software Center, it was a year of new beginnings. Its consumer
electronics division set up a competence center for mobile multimedia and
connectivity. Close to 80% of the company’s global software development for
DVDs and rewriters now happens out of this center. A competence group for
next-generation digital TVs was started at CED, which also wrote the software
and carried out the integration on the Philips audio jukebox, which is ready for
launch.
