The Innovation Centre has emerged as a critical partner in the development of
strategic and futuristic technologies for Philips worldwide. The Bangalore-based
software-development center of Royal Philips Electronics expanded from its
initial focus on embedded software for television sets, multithreaded
architectures, ASIC design and audio/video compression conforming to ATSC/NTSC/PAL
standards. Now, IC design and software for semiconductor platforms are growing
new areas of expertise, serving products ranging from televisions to DVDs, MP3
jukeboxes and audio products, to bus systems for USB, Wi-Fi and audio products.
