PGCIL Recruitment 2021: Vacancies for Engineering Graduates through GATE 2021 to be Announced on 15 February

PGCIL recruitment 2021 for engineering graduates through GATE 2021 scores will soon begin. The company recently announced that the recruitment notification will be made available on the PGCIL website on 15 February 2021. “This is for the kind attention of all the interested candidates for the post of Executive Trainee (ET) 26th batch through GATE 2021. A detailed notification with specifics including the number of vacancies, category-wise breakup, application formalities and other details shall be issued by 15th February 2021 on the Career page of our website,” says the notification. Candidates selected for the Executive Trainee vacancies will be eligible for a salary in the pay scale of Rs 60,000 to 1,80,000.

Qualifications Required to Apply for PGCIL Recruitment 2021

Applicants with a full time BE, BTech or BSc in Engineering from a recognized university or institute from the streams of Electrical, Electrical (Power), Electrical and Electronics, Power Systems Engineering or Power Engineering, Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electronics and Electrical Communication or Telecommunication Engineering, and Civil Engineering can apply for the Executive Trainee vacancies.

Furthermore, only candidates planning to attempt the corresponding GATE 2021 papers which are ET (Electrical) EE, ET (Electronics) EC, and ET (Civil) CE may apply. Those with GATE 2020 scores are not eligible to apply. The upper age limit of the candidates cannot be over 28 years. Some of the job responsibilities include operations and maintenance of sub-stations, operations and maintenance of transmission line, testing and commissioning, and managing construction activities at the site in accordance with policy among others.

Selection Criteria for PGCIL Recruitment 2021

Applicants will be selected based on their marks obtained out of 100 in the corresponding paper of GATE 2021, group discussion and personal interview. Engineers in their final year may also apply provided they have obtained 70% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters or years up to pre-final examination. In case of selection, their candidature shall be subject to their securing a minimum of 70% marks in essential qualification, says the notification.

How to Apply for PGCIL Recruitment 2021

All applications will be accepted on the official PGCIL website. Candidates will have to register themselves online on the POWERGRID website with details of their GATE 2021 application and registration numbers and other required information to be made available under the CAREER section of the website. A non-refundable online application fee of Rs 500 will have to be paid by applicants. For more details, interested candidates are advised to go through the official notification available on the PGCIL website.
