PGCIL recruitment 2021 is currently underway for civil and electrical engineers for 35 diploma trainee positions available at Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi. The positions available are that of diploma trainee, and selected candidates will be paid Rs 27,500 per month as trainees. After the completion of the training period, candidates will be engaged as Junior Engineer Grade IV at S1 level in the supervisory category and will be paid a salary of up to Rs 1,17,500.
Who Can Apply for PGCIL Recruitment 2021?
According to the PGCIL recruitment notification, there are a total of 35 diploma trainee positions out of which 30 are for electrical engineers and 5 are for civil engineers. The other details of the vacancies are as follows:

Candidates with a BTech, BE, MTech or ME in civil or electrical engineering with or without a diploma may not apply for the vacancies. The degree should have been obtained with a minimum of 70% marks for General, OBC NCL, EWS or ST candidates and pass marks for SC candidates.
Selection Process for the PGCIL Recruitment 2021
Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the written or computer-based test. The written test will be of objective type, and consists of two parts technical knowledge test or professional knowledge test, or aptitude test. All questions will be of MCQ type with 4 options and carry equal weightage. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. Candidates will be given the option for appearing in the written test in Hindi or English.

Eligible candidates will have to submit online applications before 15 June 2021 on the online registration system of Powergrid. Applicants will have to log on to http://www.powergrid.in, careers section, Job Opportunities, Openings, Regional Openings, Northern Region-1, Delhi Recruitment and then visit “Recruitment for the post of Diploma Trainee (Electrical/Civil) in NR-I-2021” to submit online applications. There is an online application fee of Rs 300 that needs to be paid. However, SC, ST, PwD, Ex-SM or departmental candidates need not pay the application fee.
