Rajeev Motwani, the Stanford University professor, who advised the founders

of search engine giant GoogleLarry Page and Sergey Brindied in a swimming pool

accident at his home in Atherton, California. Motwani was the winner of many

awards including the prestigious Gdel Prize for his excellence in theoretical

computer science in 2001.

Reliance CIO is Mumbai Indians CEO





Ashish Chauhan, group CIO of Reliance Industries has recently been appointed as
CEO of Mumbai Indians, the IPL team of the Reliance Group. After serving as head

of business and operations for the equities market in NSE, Chauhan began his

innings at Reliance joining Reliance Infocomm. He is credited with setting up

Indias first commercial satellite telecom network as well as screen-based

trading system at NSE.

Valluri Joins Ingersoll





Ingersoll Rand, a globally diversified industrial technology company, has
appointed Venkatesh Valluri as the president of its Indian operations. Valluri

will represent the India management board as its chairman. He will also join the

board of its publicly traded company, Ingersoll Rand India, as the non-executive

chairman.

The new Ministers of State in the Ministry of Communications and IT, Gurudas

Kamat and Sachin Pilot, have been allocated their portfolios by the Union

Minsiter, A Raja. Gurudas Kamat has been given Communication and Post &

Telegraph, while Sachin Pilot has been allocated IT.

Alexander is Technopark CEO



The Trivandrum Technopark has appointed Merwin Alexander as its CEO.

Alexander, who was earlier the director of postal services at Coimbatore, has

replaced Siddhartha Bhattacharya, the acting CEO. He has also worked as chief

vigilance officer in Cochin Shipyard, and Cochin Port Trust, and served as

consultant to the Asia Pacific Postal Training Center, Bangkok in the past.

semiconductors, has promoted Ganesh Moorthy to the rank of executive vice

president and chief operating officer of the company.

Google Executive Joins Facebook





The social cyberspace is again dominated by Facebook with Googles popular

advertising business unit AdWords losing its operations chief, Grady Burnett, to

Facebook. According to media reports, Burnett, who was the director, online

sales and operations at Google is quitting the search engine giant to head the

social networking portal in Palo Alto.

Prathivadi Replaces Nangia



Satyam Computer Serviceshas appointed Venki Prathivadi as the new country
manager for Satyam Australia and New Zealand. Prathivadi will be replacing

Deepak Nangia, and will direct all Satyam activities in the two countries,

including CRM, solution development, service delivery, sales and support.

Ciscos Subramanian on Wimax Forum



The WiMax Forum has added Cisco as a new member of its board of directors.

Sai Subramanian, director of marketing for the broadband wireless business unit

of Cisco, will serve as Ciscos representative on the WiMax Forum board.
