Nand Gangwani Joins Evalueserve
Evalueserve has appointed Nand Gangwani as chief financial officer. Prior to
joining Evalueserve, Gangwani served as CFO for Napster and Roxio. As CFO of
Roxio, he led the successful restructuring of its software business and assisted
in the transition of Napster to becoming a leading music subscription service.
Venkatachaliah to Head Aztecsofts HR
Aztecsoft, a software engineering services company, has appointed Satish
Venkatachaliah as senior VP, Global HR and Recruiting. Venkatachaliah has over
fourteen years of experience in human resource. Earlier, Venkatachaliah was VP,
HR and a member of the board of directors at SAP Labs India.
Mahmoud Joins AMD
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has appointed Ahmed Mahmoud as CIO. Mahmoud
will be responsible for managing the companys global technology infrastructure,
and will play a key role in ensuring that AMD continues to set an example of
commercial computing excellence. He will report to the Office of the CEO.
Pagalia Heads CSCs Latin American Operations
Computer Sciences Corporation has appointed Constantino Pagalia as MD of its
Latin American operations. Based in Santiago, Chile, he will be responsible for
the companys operations, clients and future world sourcing centers in Central
and South America. He will report to Mary Jo Morris, president, World Sourcing
Services, and Russ Owen, president, Americas Commercial Group.
Rastogi
to Head Yahoo! Labs in Bangalore
Yahoo! has announced the expansion of its India R&D operations with the
launch of Yahoo! Labs in Bangalore, its first in India. Rajeev Rastogi has been
appointed VP and head of the new lab. Yahoo! Labs in Bangalore will be a center
of excellence for next generation search and advertising technologies, focused
on making the Web more relevant and simple for users and advertisers. Earlier,
Rastogi was the founding director of Bell Labs India. He was a Bell Labs fellow
and distinguished member of its technical staff.
Sighat is VP, Operations, Cyberoam
Cyberoam has appointed Tushar Sighat as VP (Operations) for India. Sighat has
seventeen years of extensive experience in the field of networking and
communications. In his role as at Cyberoam, Sighat will be part of the core
group in strategizing and planning Cyberoams business in India through his
in-depth industry experience. He will guide the product management, pre-sales,
support, sales and marketing teams at Cyberoam to enhance Cyberoams presence
among customers and channel partners in the market.
New Role for Chauhan at Nortel
Nortel has appointed Ravi Chauhan as its global Multimedia Applications
leader. A strong leader with a track record of success in leading and driving
the India sales team as its MD, Chauhan will now be responsible for providing
strategic direction for the Multimedia Applications business at Nortel,
globally. Hitesh Lokhandwala has been appointed as the new MD for Nortel India,
moving up from his previous role as leader of several major accounts in the
country.
Sundar Balasubramanian Joins EMC
EMC Data Storage Services India has announced the appointment of Sundar
Balasubramanian as general manager, Strategy and Business Productivity, at the
EMC India Center of Excellence, EMCs largest R&D center outside North America.
Balasubramanian will be responsible for incubating and growing new products and
solutions in high growth markets such as India and will play a strategic role in
developing the COEs product management capabilities for global markets.
Phaneesh Murthy is iGATEs New CEO
iGATE, an integrated technology and operations provider, has named Phaneesh
Murthy as chief executive officer. He would succeed Sunil Wadhwani. The company
has also appointed Ramachandran Natesan as chief financial officer of iGATE
Global Solutions and he would succeed Michael Zugay as CFO of iGATE. The company
board has agreed to divest its professional services business, which would
either be sold or spun off as a separate public company where the present
shareholders would get one share for every share held.
Vijayakumar to Head EDS Training
EDS Technologies has appointed GC Vijayakumar as country head, Training. He
will be based in the Bangalore center. Vijayakumar, who was earlier working at
the Vellore Institute of Technology as a training manager, will focus on
strategies for setting up training centers and finishing schools across the
country.
Krishna
is Yahoo! Indias Audience Head
Yahoo! India has appointed Gopal Krishna as head of Audience, responsible
for all consumer-facing products in the region. Prior to joining Yahoo! India,
Krishna was setting up a seed-stage venture capital fund focused on the Internet
and Mobile startups in India. He will be based out of Bangalore, and will report
to Keith Nilsson, MD, International Emerging Markets, Yahoo! As the Audience
Head, he will be responsible for all flagship Yahoo! India products including
communities and communications, media and entertainment, front doors, Yahoo!
India Search among others.
Rao is Marlabs New Delivery Manager
Marlabs has announced that Pallavi Rao has come on board as delivery manager to
be based out of its Bangalore location. She will take the lead in strategizing,
building and growing Marlabs project delivery processes. Prior to joining
Marlabs, Pallavi was with TCS in quality management and project deliverables.
Before this, she has also worked with CanBank Computer Services and Medicon. She
completed her bachelors degree from Mangalore University and went on to do MCA
from KREC (Surathkal).
Pande is VP, Calsoft Labs
Calsoft Labs has appointed Sanjiv Pande as its new VP of Global Marketing. He
graduated with a BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Birla
Institute of Technology, Ranchi. In this role, Pande will be defining and
implementing the marketing strategy for Calsoft Labs globally.
Morparia in CMCs Board
CMC has announced that the companys board of directors has appointed
Kalpana Morparia, vice chairman, Insurance Securities and Asset Management, the
ICICI group, as independent director. Morparia was the joint managing director
of ICICI Bank till May 2007. Morparia joined ICICI in 1975 and led the ICICI
groups major corporate structuring initiative, the merger of ICICI with ICICI
Bank.
Wiley Joins Motif
Ahmedabad-based Motif, a global knowledge-based BPO services provider, has
announced that Karl Wiley has joined the company as president of the US
operations. Wiley will be responsible for all of Motifs US-based operations
including corporate strategy, sales and marketing, etc.
Desais New Role in Netmagic Solutions
