Bandy as Calsofts Chairman
California Software Company (Calsoft) has announced the appointment of its
new chairman, Clyde Michael Bandy. Bandy was elected to undertake the position
following the sudden demise of the former Chairman Robert V Chandran (founder
and chairman of Chemoil) in a tragic copter crash on January 7, 2008. Bandy had
been associated with Chemoil since August 31, 2006 as a lead independent
director. He was unanimously elected as the chairman and chief executive officer
of SGX Mainboard listed Chemoil recently.
Genazzio is VP, ITO, Cambridge
Cambridge Solutions has appointed Thomas Genazzio as its vice president,
ITO. Genazzio will also head the companys Enterprise Resource Planning
services. Cambridge also appointed Anjan Dutta as vice president of Staffing,
Human Resources and MR Ravichandran as the chief delivery officer. The trio will
report to Dilip Keshu, chief strategy/corporate development officer and
president, ITO, Cambridge Solutions. Earlier, Thomas Genazzio was managing
director of Bearing Point.
Mukherjee to Head TCS HR
Tata Consultancy Services has announced the appointment of Ajoyendra Mukherjee
as the global head of HR, following S Padmanabhans move to Tata Power as
executive director, Operations. Ritu Anand has been appointed as the deputy
global head of human resources. Anand will report to Mukherjee in her new role.
Mukherjee was the vice president and head of operations, eastern region, TCS.
Doraisamy Named MD for HP APJ
HP has announced Balu Doraisamys appointment as the managing director for
Asia Pacific Japan and senior vice president for the Technology Solutions Group
(TSG). Balu succeeds Tom Iannotti, who has returned to the US to assume the role
of managing director, Americas. Balu begins his new role immediately and will be
based in Singapore. Balu has more than 23 years experience with HP, most
recently as managing director of HP India. In his managing director role, Balu
will be responsible for continuing the focus on creating value for customers and
profitable growth together with the region leadership team.
Prashanth Joins Hitachi Data Systems
Hitachi Data Systems has announced the appointment of Prashanth GJ as
regional director for its South India operations. He will closely work with
Natarajan Viswanathan, managing director, India, Hitachi Data Systems and other
business leaders. He would also be responsible for driving growth and expansion
of the companys revenue and market share in South India.
Olivier to Head Schneider Electric India
Schneider Electric has appointed Olivier Blum as the new managing director
of Schneider Electric India. Blum takes over from Roshanlal Kariholoo.
Expanding our presence in India is one of the most important strategic
priorities for Schneider Electric globally, said Russell Stocker, executive
vice president, Asia Pacific Operating Division.
Mittal in Court
Nasscom chief may face prosecution for violating a Karnataka government order
banning employment of women and young persons in night shift. The Supreme Court
dismissed the plea of Som Mittal, Nasscom chief and former MD of HP Global Soft,
praying for the quashing of the FIR filed against him by the Karnataka
government in connection with the rape and murder of an HP BPO employee.
Padma Awards for Murthy, Nadar
Infosys chief mentor NR Narayana Murthy, HCL founder and chairman and chief
strategy officer of HCL Technologies Shiv Nadar were among the 119 prominent
personalities from various fields who were selected for the Padma awards this
year. Murthy was named for the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian
award in the country, while Nadar was named for the Padma Bhushan honor.
Microsoft India Appoints Maya Hari
Maya Hari has been appointed the head of Consumer Marketing of Microsoft
India. Announcing this appointment in a statement issued here, Microsoft India
said this appointment is part of its continued focus on new initiatives for
consumers in India. She will report to Jaspreet Bindra, India country manager,
Online Service Microsoft India. She will be responsible for strengthening the
marketing for Microsofts online brands in India.
Sour Chhor Joins SCM Microsystems
SCM Microsystems has announced the appointment of Sour Chhor as executive vice
president, Worldwide Business Development and Strategy, effective February 1,
2008. In his new role, Chhor will be responsible for driving the development of
new products, overseeing product lines and building a product roadmap, with
particular focus on the contactless reader environment. Earlier, Chhor was with
NXP Semiconductors as senior director, Global Key Accounts.
Veluri as Director Marketing Citrix India
Citrix Systems has announced the appointment of Kaushal Veluri to the role
of director, Marketing for India Sub-continent. Veluri has over fourteen years
of experience in sales and marketing with organizations like 3M, IBM, and
Oracle. He will be based out of Bangalore. In his current role, Kaushal will be
looking after strategic marketing initiatives for Citrix India, which includes
demand generation, brand marketing, channel marketing, and corporate
communications. In addition, he will also focus on building market development
activities around the Citrix Delivery Centre covering various aspects of
virtualization and Application Delivery Controller offerings of Citrix.
HDS Appoints Aman Jain
Hitachi Data Systems has appointed Aman Jain as Channels Development
Manager. Jain will be responsible for structuring and executing the channel
plans through Ingram Micro. He has six years of experience in the channel sales
industry. As Channels Development Manager, he will focus on aligning Hitachi
Data Systems Mid Market and SMB volume business strategy with the channels.
Narayanan is CFO of Symphony
Symphony Services has announced that SL Narayanan has joined the company as
its chief financial officer. In this position, he will oversee all financial
operations at the company, focusing on capital structure, budgeting, financial
reporting and managing communication with the investor community. Until
recently, SL was corporate director (finance) at Bharti Enterprises, where he
oversaw strategic financial matters concerning the companys investments,
including management of investor relations and long-term financial planning.
Bharadwaj is Canons Sr VP
Digital imaging company Canon India has promoted Alok Bharadwaj as its
senior vice president. Bharadwaj will be responsible for leading the overall
performance of five business divisions of the company. In his six-year tenure at
Canon, Bharadwaj has been involved in the companys sales, marketing, PR and
brand building activities. Prior to this appointment, Bharadwaj was the vice
president of Canon India.
