Targus Technologies has entered a strategic platinum partnership with Hewlett Packard ESSN starting Q1FY11. The partnership constitutes the PartnerONE program, which is meant to help HPs partners grow new business and increase RoI. We have always endeavored to provide the best solutions to our customers, and this commitment to quality helped us in building competency in selling HPs solutions.

The HP partners will have access to world class services, through this partnership. The partnership will help Targus too. HP has furthered its support to Targus. HPs networking business through Targus would grow since the platinum partnership also brings the HP networking master specialization to Targus. There are certain criteria that Targus is going to fulfil soon.

What are your areas of focus in the IT infrastructure segment?

Targus is operating in different areas as far as IT infrastructure is concerned. For us, remote infrastructure management (RIM), IT services, networking, and storage are some of the prominent areas. We offer our services and support to clients.

What are the main trends emerging in the industry for IT infrastructure which, you think are good for your business?

IT infrastructure is very significant part of a companys entire ecosystem, and required in different forms in different companies. There are companies that need cloud computing infrastructure. There is a range of educational institutions that want wireless campuses. In short, trends like cloud computing, wireless campuses, and virtualization seem to be productive for IT industry.

Are large companies spending on IT infrastructure or small ones? How do you see the IT requirements from both categories?

Well, the IT spending is flowing from both type of organizations. But large companies are spending more but they negotiate hard. So there is space in both domains to balance the top and bottomlines.

HCL Infosystems and NetApp to Provide Cloud Services

NetApp India has announced its partnership with HCL Infosystems to provide flexible, scalable, and secure multi-tenant storage environment for HCL Infosystems Ozone cloud services. The partnership will help deliver IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS) and provide opex based options for the IT infrastructure to the end customers. HCL Infosystems will utilize storage virtualization solutions from NetApp and work with NetApp to leverage its global experience in snapshot, de-duplication, and thin provisioning for cloud services for the Indian market.

Nokia and IBM to Deliver Mobility Solutions

Nokia India and IBM has collaborated to deliver business mobility solutions to the Indian enterprises. Nokia and IBM also shared an update on the deployment of IBM Lotus Notes Traveler for Nokia smartphones. The solution, which delivers direct, secure access to email and personal information via organizations IBM domino servers, is now available for Nokia Symbian S60 smartphones. Support for Nokias new Symbian OS platform is positioned in IBMs mobile product roadmap.

Sanovi Partners with HDFC Bank

HDFC bank has been an early adopter of disaster recovery (DR) management planning in India. As part of the DR management project, HDFC bank partnered with Sanovi Technologies to implement a DR management solution, which tracks and monitors RTOs as well as RPOs. Sanovi helps the organizations proactively manage DR environments, and ensure business managers that applications can be recovered in compliance with service level agreements.

HCL Infosystems Partners with Astaro

HCL Infosystems has entered into a partnership with Astaro. The partnership intends to add protection through advanced security to mitigate possible network threats. The collaboration, according to the company, will enable customers to access secured cloud framework. The company says that HCLs Ozone has been developed to deliver increased data security, provide flexibility through server consolidation, reduce capital expenditure and promote green computing by reducing power and cooling. The solution is provided with 24x7 technical support to manage scalability, and deliver optimum performance.

MoneyGram and Bank of Baroda in Partnership

MoneyGram and Bank of Baroda have joined hands to provide global money transfer services. Bank of Baroda was signed as MoneyGrams international agent network under super agent UAE exchange. Bank of Baroda will soon offer MoneyGram money transfer services at 2,000 locations across India. Bank of Baroda will expand MoneyGrams presence in key cities across India. Including Bank of Baroda locations, MoneyGram claims to have over 30,000 agent locations throughout the country.

Nokia and Sify to Help Customers
Become Efficient

Nokia India has joined hands with Sify to deploy Nokia Tej, a hosted mobile order management service that helps small and medium businesses (SMBs) manage sales orders and track information from the field on-the-go. Through this national initiative, Sify will integrate Nokia Tej into its existing portfolio of products and services such as Forum.
