Avnet Signs Deal with VMware



Avnet Technology Solutions has signed a value-added distribution agreement

in India with VMware. This agreement would enable Avnet to offer the full suite

of VMware virtualization products and solutions to the Indian market through the

companys network of resellers. Under this agreement, Avnet would enhance its

current portfolio of products and services by distributing virtualization

solutions from VMware.

Varicent and HCL Partners



Varicent Software and HCL Technologies have announced their global partnership.
This would enable HCL to build upon its existing strengths in Microsoft Dynamics

which forms a strategic part of HCLs enterprise application services (EAS)

practice. HCL will provide clients with systems integration expertise,

delivering Varicent SPM solutions throughout the Asia Pacific region, and

implementing Varicent for Microsoft Dynamics CRM throughout North America.

Tata Comm, Pipe Networks in Pact



Tata Communications has partnered with Brisbane based Pipe Networks to start
delivering broadband capacity into Australia via the privately owned Pipe

Pacific cable system. PPC-1 is a new two-fiber-pair cable system connecting the

US territory of Guam to Sydney, Australia. The cable system spans 6,900 km and

can provide up to 2.56 terabits per second of capacity to the rapidly growing

Australian market.

Mahindra Satyam to Appoint Deloitte



Mahindra Satyam, erstwhile Satyam Computer, is all set to appoint global

auditing firm Deloitte as its statutory auditor for 2009-10, according to

sources. Deloitte had earlier shown interest to become the auditor of scam-hit

Satyam Computer Services. Deloitte is also the statutory auditor for Tech

Mahindra, which acquired Satyam Computer through an open bid in April this year.

Syntel Joins SAP PartnerEdge



Syntel has joined the SAP PartnerEdge program as a SAP services partner in

India. The program gives partners access to resources, services and benefits

that will help Syntel build and maintain a successful partnership with SAP

India, which will help it to optimize business results for clients. SAP services

partners help SAP customers design, implement and integrate solutions, optimize

business processes, and provide strategic business consultation.

Adobe, Barnes & Noble Join Forces



Adobe Systems and Barnes & Noble have announced further advancements for eBook
distribution by joining forces to standardize the open EPUB and PDF eBook

formats and collaborating on a content protection standard based on Adobe and

Barnes & Noble technology. The collaboration makes Barnes & Noble the most

portable and compatible eBookstore, and provides customers of nook, the new

Barnes & Noble eBook reader and other compatible devices, as well as users of

Barnes & Noble eReader software for iPhone, PCs, BlackBerry and other

smartphones the ability to access digital content from thousands of content

providers that is protected with Adobe technology. In addition, customers with

devices that use the Adobe Reader Mobile software development kit (SDK) will

soon be able to purchase and read content from BN.com, the worlds largest

eBookstore.
