The ISRO Chandrayaan 2 mission continues to fulfill its objectives despite the final leg of the mission not going as planned. As the orbiter, onboard which all science payloads are operational and in a 100km polar orbit around the Moon continues to relay valuable information data is being analysed by the respective payload teams and initial results have been released on the ISRO website.

In regard to the same, the Indian Space Research Organisation convened the ‘Chandrayaan-2 data users meet’ at DOS Branch Secretariat, New Delhi on 22 October 2019. This was the third in the series of lunar science meets, which are held to maximise the science outcome from the ISRO Chandrayaan 2 mission and to increase the user base, particularly from non-ISRO institutions such as national institutes, universities, and colleges, says the ISRO website.

38 faculties and research students from non-ISRO institutions namely 14 participants from IITs, 9 from national institutes and 15 from Universities and colleges attended the meet with 70 participants. Science The performance of payloads of the ISRO Chandrayaan 2 mission was presented and a data user manual for Chandrayaan 2 Orbiter payloads was provided to the lunar science community.
