Panasonic unveils Ultrabook, Toughpad PCs

Japan based Panasonic which is hoping to revive its survival in the Indian IT market has introduced two PC products yet again. These are: Panasonic CF-AX2 Ultrabook for Rs 1.30 lakh and Panasonic FZ-A1 Toughpad. The company said that their IT products contributes close to 1% of its revenues.

Panasonic has started aggressively working to establish distribution channels across India. The company feels that India will catch up with new products as they are doing well in the US and Europe markets. India is a big focus and we aim to be at least 3% (revenues) by 2015, said a senior company official.

"Their toughbooks are seven times more reliable than standard laptops and the company has incorporated seven ket technologies that include thermal management," said Harada San, director, IT products business unit, Panasonic

Gunjan Sachdev, national business head at Panasonic India said that Panasonic Ultrabook comes with Windows 8 with ten (multi) finger touch screen capability. "It is light weight with 1.16 kg and have in-built 3G option. The company offers warranty across Asia," added Sachdev.

The company also claims that Panasonic Toughpad is world's first Android (4.0) based rugged tablet. Panasonic, despite recent security concerns worldwide, is using ZTE chipset in the Touchpad hardware. It is eying government, services, healthcare and construction verticals.
