One of its biggest challenges was to increase operating profits that had
dipped to an all-time low of 2.5% of sales. By automating its sales processes,
the company was able to streamline its sales order cycle, scheme management,
credit management, dealer management and contractors management. GNP used SAP

A disjointed purchase process was integrated using the R/3 and APO. A
knowledge management portal was deployed to create a data bank of previous
purchases and an IVL solution for imports module. Goodlass Nerolac Paints
synchronized its purchase and accounts processes, which centralized the
clearance of payments. In manufacturing, GNP used IT for product scheduling,
maintenance scheduling, colour sequencing and asset utilization. Some of its
projects of excellence include SAP business process control audit, SCM solution,
knowledge management solution, employee portal solution, BI solutions, smart
card solution, security solutions, etc.
