Having transformed itself into a Linux company, Onward Novell launched the
Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES) and the Novell Linux Desktop 9 (NLD). OES
combined NetWare and SuSe Linux Enterprise Server. NLD 9 powered by SuSe,
included OpenOffice, Firefox, Evolution and a host of other productivity tools
besides integration with Novell ZENworks. Novell also doubled its channel
partners and augmented educational partners by 25%, but still lagged behind Red
Hat in the overall Linux stakes in India.
