“Every country, while connecting its education system with its National Values, moves in accordance with its National Goals. The objective is that the education system of the country should keep its current and future generations Future Ready,” said Narendra Modi.

PM Modi also added that since there were no major changes in our education system over the years, instead of promoting the values of Curiosity and Imagination in our society, “herd” movement was being encouraged. “How will the critical and Innovative abilities of our youth improve unless our education system inculcates Passion, Philosophy of Education and Purpose of Education?” asked PM Modi.

“In our education system so far, the focus has been on What to Think. Whereas how to think is being emphasized in this education policy. This is why I am saying that in the era we are in today, there is no shortage of information and content,” stated the PM.

The PM also said that the effort now being made by the National Education Policy is to emphasize inquiry-based, discovery-based, discussion-based, and analysis based methods for children to learn. This will increase the urge to learn in children and increase their participation in their class.

“This is the thinking behind multiple education and multiple entry and exit, Credit Bank, exempting higher education from streams. We are moving towards the era where a person will not remain in one profession throughout his life. For this, he will have to constantly re-skill and up-skill himself,” said the PM on the multiple exit option that has been introduced by the National Education Policy.

“National education policy will not be just by issuing circulars, but by implementing notifications. For this you have to make up your mind, you all have to show strong will. This work is like a Mahayagya for you to create the present and future of India,” said the PM in conclusion.
