NIRF India Rankings 2022 have been announced by the Government of India , and IIT Madras has topped the list yet again
NIRF India Rankings 2022, which stands for National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), has just been announced by Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. Announcing the NIRF 2022 Ranking Results, Dharmendra Pradhan, said, “The list of top Institutes released in NIRF 2022 showcases the impartial and qualitative assessment done by the Ministry of Education. Our Hon’ble Prime Minister had the vision to make sure all Higher Education Institutions should be able to highlight their outstanding performance to the young aspirants.”
The Education Minister further added, “Knowledge based innovation, entrepreneurship, and digitalisation is the way forward for emerging countries. Blended multidisciplinary programs at institutes like IITs is the need of the hour. Industry’s expectation of engineering technocrats having managerial capabilities is an example of the same The time has arrived when India will lead the education front globally.”
Congratulating the Institute on its performance, Prof TG Sitharam, Director, IIT Guwahati, said, “The performance of the institute directly reflects the contribution of the students and the faculty members and we will continue to support their efforts”
IIT Madras has been named the top institute in the rankings yet again. Congratulating all the stakeholders, from students to faculty and non-teaching staff for their hard work that has resulted in such extraordinary performance, Prof V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said, “I dedicate this achievement to all the students, staff and faculty of my Institute. Special thanks to all the frontline workers who kept the Institute ticking during the Covid times. Thanks to the Ministry of Education, Government of India for their continued support and encouragement. NIRF process gives a detailed feedback regarding our strengths and weaknesses. “We are immensely delighted to announce that NITK Surathkal is one among the top ten Engineering Colleges in India, As released in NIRF India Ranking 2022 today by Hon'ble Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, NITK stands at the 10th position,” said NIT Karnataka. Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru ranks first among the top universities in Ministry of Education's India Rankings 2022 of Higher Educational Institutions, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia from Delhi secure second and third ranks, respectively.
“Happy to see this. I was hoping IIT Delhi will be number 1 this year. Must have been a close second. Usually, the difference in scores isn't much among the top 5,” said Prof V Ramgopal Rao, former IIT Delhi director on the NIRF India Rankings 2022. “Proud that, according to NIRF 2022 India Ranking, Jadavpur University and Calcutta University are at first and second positions among all State aided Universities in India. Among colleges, St Xavier's is 8th in the country. Congratulations to our academic fraternity and students,” said Mamata Banerjee, chief minister, West Bengal.
