“Keeping the safety and security of our students on priority, NIOS cancels class 12 examinations. Students will be evaluated based on objective criteria to be announced soon. This will benefit around 1.75 Lakhs students,” said NIOS. The decision is being highly appreciated by both students and parents who were stressed out about attending offline examinations during the pandemic.

The NIOS latest notification also says that the NIOS will devise a well defined objective criterion for assessment in a time bound manner. Any learner who is not satisfied with the assessment will be given an option to appear in public examinations or through on demand examination as and when situation becomes conducive to hold examinations. In such circumstances the result of the concerned learner in public examinations or ODE will be treated as final.

Students have been appreciating the decision, and are thanking the board for cancelling NIOS class 12 board exams 2021. “Good decision taken by NIOS. Now the time to enlighten the future of NIOS student by giving that criteria which make them equivalent to other boards,” says a student.
