NIOS Board Exams 2021: Last Date to Submit Fees Extended amidst Requests for Cancellation of Exams

NIOS board exams 2021 could be postponed, cancelled, or held as scheduled depending on the pandemic situation. However, as students and parents continue to request for cancelation of exams, the National Institute of Open Schooling has announced that the last date to submit examination fees for June NIOS board exams 2021 has been extended further.

“Dear Learners, Last date for submission of the examination fee (with consolidated late fee Rs 1500/-) for NIOS Secondary and Senior Secondary courses for June 2021 Examination is extended till midnight of 15th May 2021,” says the latest tweet from NIOS. This announcement has further prompted students and parents to question the board as to how examinations could be conducted in June for which they are collecting fees.

“How can you Conduct offline exams in this pandemic and risk students' life? Find out an alternative for the offline exam,” says Advocate Anubha Shrivastava Sahai. “I am a student in 12th and I have still not received books for my subjects. I think NIOS should cancel the exams and go for mass promotions as lives are more valuable than an exam,” says Krish Soni.

However, the board has already made it clear that a decision in this regard will be announced before 20 May 2021. According to sources, it is likely that NIOS could promote students of the 10^th standard and assign them marks based on their Tutor Mark Assignment (TMS). “Students from 10th standard may be promoted based on TMA, but we cannot comment on 12th standard,” said a source who works with the NIOS on the condition of anonymity. Nevertheless, NIOS is expected to make an announcement on the NIOS Board Exams 2021 soon.
