The last date to submit examination fees for NIOS board exams 2021 that is scheduled to be held in June could be extended further. According to information provided by a source, the last date to submit the fees with a consolidated late fee Rs 1500 for secondary and senior secondary courses is likely to be extended until midnight of 25 April 2021. However, students are advised to wait for the official notification to be issued on the NIOS website. NIOS has extended the last date for NIOS board exams 2021 twice earlier. The board is also expected to announce its decision on conducting the examinations in June 2021 as students and parents have been requesting the Government to cancel or postpone the examinations due to the rising COVID-19 cases in India.

“Please cancel the exams as there has been a sudden and very high rise in covid-19 cases. It seems crazy and pointless in risking our and other people’s lives just to give an exam. Although safety measures could be taken, but to what extent? COVID cannot be completely eliminated and somebody will end up getting it and spreading it to others. Right now, the best decision seems to be to cancel the exams. So please do so,” said an NIOS student to Dataquest.

Students have also been claiming that they haven’t received their study material yet due to the pandemic. “I haven’t got any study material yet and my course also isn’t complete. So please cancel NIOS board exams 2021 of 10 class and postpone class 12 exams,” says Akshita. Nevertheless, NIOS has responded to students saying it is watching the situation closely and a decision regarding the same would be announced by 20 May keeping the safety and well-being of students in mind.
