NIOS board exams 2021 could be postponed or cancelled as students are hoping for. In its latest notification, the National Institute of Open Schooling has said that a decision with regard to the June 2021 examinations will be taken keeping the safety and well being of students in mind. “In view of the prevailing situation due to covid-19 pandemic across the country and also taking in account the safety and well being of the Learners, the NIOS is keeping close watch on the situation for the schedule of June 2021 Examinations,” said a statement from NIOS.
The board also said that NIOS board exams 2021 will be conducted after reviewing the situation and all decisions regarding the theory and practical examinations for secondary, senior secondary and vocational courses would be issued by 20 May 2021. Students may refer to the NIOS portal for the latest information, and the board says that it is monitoring the situation closely. The board also recently extended the last date for submitting the examination fee with consolidated late fee Rs 1500 for secondary and senior secondary courses for June 2021 Exams until midnight of 18 April 2021.
After the CBSE board exams were postponed, NIOS students have been requesting the authorities to cancel or postpone the NIOS board exams 2021 due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases. Students also claim that they were yet to receive study material and books that were needed to prepare for the examinations. Also, they claim to have been unable to prepare for exams due to closure of coaching centres due to the lockdown.
