NIET is India’s first engineering institute to be E-LEAD certified

Hard work and passion of management, teachers and students in online educational activities has resulted in NIET getting QS e-LEAD certificate

Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida, has been awarded as India’s first and only engineering institute to be E- Lead certified by Union Human Resource Development Minister, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal. NIET is the only institute in education category to be E- LEAD (E-Learning Excellence in Academic Digitization) certified.

Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India, presented this certificate to NIET Greater Noida in an online ceremony held on 14 May 2020. Educational institutions were provided with the scorecard based on rating of four major indices, namely, Student Faculty Engagement, Learning Management System, Information Technology Support and Best Practices in Information Technology.

The Institution’s scorecard gives a concise overview of every institution’s performance with respect to each indicator that was assessed in the audit. Out of 150, the eligibility of these indices was 120 marks. Out of 150, NIET not only ensured its place by exceeding the eligible criteria of 120 marks but also scored way higher with 140 marks and became the India’s Only institute in education category to be E-LEAD Certifed.

Dr. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Vice Chancellor, AKTU, congratulated NIET and appreciated its continuous efforts and great initiatives to enable online enriched expanding platforms to engage, share and communicate at the time of such distress. He said that just as NIET is an exemplary for other institutions that has always insisted on innovation in education and striving for state-of-the-art technologies, the result of which is that today the institute has been rewarded for its academic quality.

Raman Batra, executive VP, NIET, said that the manner in which the VC has inspired is praiseworthy. His motivation and guidelines in obtaining this certificate are commendable. Amidst the Covid -19 outbreak, after receiving the order of Dr. Vinay Pathak, Vice Chancellor of AKTU on 17 March 2020, NIET Greater Noida took quick steps and made all its educational activities available to students through online channel and became the first institute of AKTU to start its classes through online medium.

By creating login IDs of all 300 teachers and about 5000 students, NIET launched the classes of all the courses within 4 hours of the notification received on online platform “IMPARTUS” and Google Classroom.

Dr. Vinod M Kapse, Director, NIET said that the hard work and passion with which management, teachers and students participated in online educational activities has resulted in NIET getting QS e-LEAD certificate.

QS is the world's leading institute for ranking educational institutions and in such a situation, the grant of E-LEAD certificate by QS to NIET indicates that the institute is using facilities and technology with international standards in online educational activities.

Such initiatives will further enable the institution in ideating the roadmap for improvements and their implementation in respective areas. In the survey conducted by QS, it has been found that NIET has done excellent work in all the activities related to academic like online classes, online assignments, online quizzes, webinars, NPTL courses, virtual labs etc.
