Wipro has signed an agreement to acquire the Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) business of HARMAN, a Samsung company. The deal, expected to close by December 31, 2025, subject to regulatory approvals, will transfer over 5,600 employees from DTS across the Americas, Europe, and Asia to Wipro.

The acquisition is intended to expand Wipro’s engineering research and development (ER&D) capabilities, particularly in digital engineering and device engineering. DTS brings expertise in domain-led design, connected products, and software platforms. Its portfolio includes AI-driven engineering frameworks, accelerators, and specialised platforms designed to support industries such as technology, industrial, aerospace, healthcare, and consumer products.

Srini Pallia, CEO and Managing Director of Wipro Limited, said the deal reflects a step toward strengthening the company’s engineering and digital services. “Their specialised engineering expertise, combined with Wipro’s consulting-led, AI-powered capabilities, will enhance the value we deliver to clients. DTS’s strong presence in high-growth sectors and strategic markets complements our global footprint,” he said.

Srikumar Rao, Managing Partner and Global Head of Engineering at Wipro, added that the acquisition will allow clients to embed AI across the engineering spectrum, connect physical and virtual environments, and manage larger transformation programs.

For HARMAN, the divestment allows the company to sharpen its focus on automotive electronics and audio technologies. Christian Sobottka, CEO of HARMAN, said the transaction would give DTS the scale and reach needed to realise its growth potential under Wipro. Carolin Reichert, Chief Strategy Officer at HARMAN, added that both companies will continue collaborating on AI-first technologies across HARMAN’s product ecosystem.

As part of the agreement, Wipro will also enter into a multi-year strategic partnership with HARMAN and Samsung to pursue joint growth opportunities.

Upon completion, DTS will be integrated into Wipro’s Engineering Global Business Line. Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. acted as the financial advisor to HARMAN in this transaction.
