Tech Data has announced an expansion of its partnership with HCLSoftware, extending their collaboration beyond Hong Kong into key markets across the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), including India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Thailand.
The move marks a strategic milestone for both firms as HCLSoftware transitions to a distributor-led model globally. It also reflects the growing demand for digital software solutions across APJ, where the software market is projected to grow at a 14.11% CAGR and reach USD 571.46 billion by 2030, according to Market Data Forecast.
Tech Data’s in-region presence and robust network of channel partners are expected to play a key role in accelerating the adoption of HCLSoftware’s suite of enterprise-grade tools across industries. The partnership will cover distribution and enablement for HCLSoftware’s full portfolio, including AppScan (application security), BigFix (endpoint management), Unica (marketing automation), Volt MX (low-code app development), Commerce (omnichannel eCommerce), Domino (collaborative apps and secure email), and Workload Automation.
Anand Chakravarthy, Vice President of Advanced Solutions at Tech Data APJ, emphasised that this partnership is timely. “We’re seeing a surge in demand for scalable digital workplace solutions, secure enterprise platforms, and AI innovation,” he noted. “HCLSoftware’s offerings, backed by our local technical expertise, will help partners and customers meet evolving business needs.”
As part of the expanded alliance, Tech Data will also provide local presales and technical support to partners, enabling faster go-to-market execution and improved customer outcomes.
This collaboration is particularly significant as enterprises across the region ramp up investments in digital transformation and cloud-first strategies. By bridging market access and technical enablement, the two companies aim to unlock new growth opportunities for channel partners in APJ's rapidly digitising economy.
The announcement reflects a broader trend of ecosystem-led software distribution, as global technology providers align more closely with in-region experts to localise support and improve time-to-value.
