With nearly 30 years of experience in cybersecurity, Levy has been pivotal in transforming Sophos from a product-centric company into a global cybersecurity powerhouse. Under his leadership over the past nine years, Sophos has introduced an incident response team and managed detection and response (MDR) services, protecting over 21,000 organizations worldwide. He also established SophosAI and Sophos X-Ops, an operational threat intelligence unit that enhances the company's cybersecurity solutions by integrating real-time and historical attack data.

As CEO, Levy aims to expand Sophos' reach in the midmarket sector, which includes nearly 600,000 customers and generates over $1.2 billion in annual revenue. Sophos plans to scale its business and assist organizations in need of robust cyber defenses. These efforts are critical as smaller organizations within essential infrastructure sectors are prime targets for cyberattacks, as highlighted in Sophos' Active Adversary and 2024 Threat reports.

Levy emphasizes the importance of protecting midmarket organizations to prevent widespread economic disruption. "Our goal is to help these organizations, which represent about 99% of those below the cybersecurity poverty line, to better detect and disrupt cyberattacks," said Levy. "We will collaborate with MSPs and channel partners to scale our innovative security solutions across endpoints, networks, email, and cloud."

Dildine brings extensive operational and financial expertise to Sophos. He previously served as CFO at Imperva and held significant financial leadership roles at Symantec and Blue Coat Systems, where he and Levy had previously worked together. Dildine's experience includes overseeing significant market growth and guiding strategic acquisitions and integrations.

Chip Virnig, a partner at Thoma Bravo and a member of the Sophos board, expressed confidence in the new leadership duo. "We have worked with Joe and Jim at various companies for over a decade. Their combined expertise and leadership will drive significant success for Sophos."

Sophos is poised for a new era of growth and innovation under the leadership of Levy and Dildine, focusing on enhancing cybersecurity for midmarket organizations globally.
