Slack has added more than 25 new artificial intelligence-powered apps to its Marketplace, expanding its capabilities as a central hub for workplace collaboration. The move is aimed at streamlining workflows across a wide range of business functions, including content creation, IT, sales, human resources, and market research.
As companies juggle an average of 112 SaaS applications, Slack’s growing Marketplace is designed to reduce digital fragmentation by embedding key tools directly within its conversational interface. This integration is expected to make it easier for users to access information, automate repetitive tasks, and collaborate without switching platforms.
The newly introduced AI apps cater to multiple use cases. For example, Asana surfaces project insights during Slack conversations, while Clockwise helps teams manage meeting schedules. Engineering teams can tap into Graph for instant answers based on GitHub and Jira data, and content creators can leverage tools like Adobe Express and Writer for on-brand visual and written outputs.
Sales and marketing teams benefit from apps like Highspot and Jasper, which deliver contextual content and automate marketing workflows. HR and IT departments are supported by tools such as BambooHR, Moveworks, and Rootly, which aim to reduce response times and automate service requests.
Several apps also focus on real-time intelligence and incident response. PagerDuty and Wiz, for instance, are geared toward cybersecurity and operations, offering features like automated incident response and threat detection.
Commenting on the launch, Rahul Sharma, Vice President of Sales at Salesforce India, highlighted the broader implications of these additions. “According to Slack’s Workforce Lab, desk workers globally spend 41% of their time on repetitive, low-value tasks. With more AI-powered apps and Agentforce in Slack, we’re entering a new era of workplace transformation,” he said.
Slack maintains that all AI apps in its Marketplace adhere to the platform’s security standards. As more tools become available—10 additional apps are expected in the coming months—the focus remains on helping organizations consolidate their tech stack and turn Slack into a unified command center for work.
The expansion of AI tools in the Slack ecosystem reflects a broader trend in enterprise software, where AI integration is increasingly being used to drive efficiency, reduce operational clutter, and support decision-making.
