Indian enterprises are accelerating their journey from AI experimentation to real-world implementation, transforming business functions with embedded intelligence, according to insights shared by SAP India at the SAP NOW AI Tour held in Mumbai today.
Revealing a snapshot of AI adoption trends across its Indian customer base, SAP highlighted that the country’s businesses are increasingly leveraging artificial intelligence not only to optimize operations but also to future-proof their organizations in a fast-evolving global economy.
“In any organisation, it is the profound insights derived from data that fuel mission-critical operations across finance, procurement, supply chain, workforce and beyond,” said Manish Prasad, President and Managing Director, SAP Indian Subcontinent. “We are empowering our customers as they evolve into intelligent, optimized businesses by embedding AI agents into all aspects of operations. We are redefining how individuals work and changing the way businesses are run—developing in India, for the benefit of the world.”

SAP Business AI: Built in India, Scaling Globally
SAP’s AI vision is closely tied to its Indian R&D roots. SAP Labs India, the second-largest development hub outside Germany, plays a central role in the development of SAP Joule, the company’s AI co-pilot. With over 210 generative AI use cases already available, and a global goal of reaching 400 embedded AI scenarios, SAP is scaling business AI as a core capability across its portfolio.
The newly launched SAP Business Cloud introduces advanced data and AI innovations that enable enterprises to move beyond traditional automation. The company is emphasizing agentic AI—self-learning and self-adapting systems that drive decisions in real time across finance, HR, manufacturing, customer service, and logistics.
Wipro Taps SAP Joule to Enhance AI-Driven Consulting
Among the early adopters of SAP’s AI-first strategy is Wipro Limited, a global tech consulting powerhouse. The company is using SAP Joule for Consultants to embed generative AI into its consulting practice.
“Our clients around the world are digitally transforming in the cloud,” said Srinivas Sai Nidadhavolu, VP and Global Practice Head of SAP at Wipro. “By using SAP Joule for Consultants, we’re able to showcase the power of SAP Business AI to our customers even while we work with them to make their transformation journeys successful.”
Wipro expects Joule to increase internal productivity, align business transformation strategies with best practices, and deliver quicker, more effective results for clients globally.
AI for Enterprise-Grade Agility and Insight
SAP Business AI integrates seamlessly with enterprise systems, enabling leaders to transition from automation to autonomy. With AI agents capable of handling end-to-end processes, from procurement requests to invoice management, businesses can achieve:
- Foresight over hindsight: Predictive insights enable proactive decision-making
- Scalable automation: AI-driven workflows reduce manual tasks and bottlenecks
- Hyper-personalization: AI models adapt in real time to deliver individualized experiences
- Strategic agility: Smarter, data-driven choices across talent management and customer journeys
“Organizations are more easily able to balance risk with strategic growth, close talent gaps, build future-ready teams, and deliver proactive, hyper-personalized customer experiences,” Prasad concluded.
A Global Mandate with Indian Roots
With AI co-pilots and agents increasingly central to enterprise technology, SAP India is establishing itself as a global center for innovation. The company’s India-driven development efforts are helping SAP meet growing demand across both developed and emerging markets, where AI integration into ERP and business operations is rapidly accelerating.
SAP’s message is clear: AI is no longer a speculative edge; it’s a strategic imperative. And in India, that imperative is already delivering returns.
