Pure Storage has announced a corporate rebranding to Everpure. This change marks the company’s transition from a provider of all-flash storage hardware to a data management platform specialist. Alongside the new identity, the company entered a definitive agreement to acquire 1touch, a developer of data intelligence and orchestration software.

The move follows a broader industry trend where storage providers are repositioning themselves as data management layers for artificial intelligence. By acquiring 1touch, Everpure plans to integrate automated data discovery and semantic context into its platform, helping organisations prepare datasets for AI workloads.

Building an Enterprise Data Cloud

Everpure is centring its strategy on theEnterprise Data Cloud (EDC) architecture. This approach treats storage as a unified, virtualised pool of data rather than a collection of hardware silos. The EDC architecture uses an intelligent control plane to manage datasets globally based on predefined policies.

CEO Charles Giancarlo stated that the new name reflects the company's current role in helping enterprises manage their data. The EDC architecture aims to remove manual configurations that often slow down data accessibility in large organisations. By virtualising the storage layer, Everpure intends to provide cloud-like agility for on-premises and hybrid environments.

The Role of 1touch in the Everpure Roadmap

The acquisition of 1touch adds a layer of data intelligence to the Everpure platform. 1touch specialises in discovering, classifying, and contextualising information across various environments, including SaaS applications and edge devices.

Ashish Gupta, CEO and president of 1touch, noted that proper controls and semantic context are necessary to realise the value of data in AI projects. Integrating 1touch’s technology allows Everpure to enrich data at the source. This ensures that when an AI model requests information, the data is already organised and carries the necessary context for accurate processing.

Industry Shift Toward Data Governance

Several industry partners weighed in on the rebranding, highlighting a shift in how enterprises view storage. Executives fromFujitsu, Nutanix, Red Hat, Rubrik, and Veeam emphasised that the convergence of identity, security, and data management is now a requirement for scaling AI.

For example, Wipro’s Business Head of Cloud and Infrastructure, Satish Yadavalli, mentioned that integrating Everpure into Wipro’s Intelligent Data Storage Service helps move beyond traditional operating models toward resilient data management. Similarly, Red Hat noted that the Enterprise Data Cloud vision provides a storage layer that supports open innovation in AI model development.

Market Transition and Availability

Everpure will begin trading under its new name on the New York Stock Exchange on 5 March 2026. The ticker symbol will remain the same. The acquisition of 1touch is expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, subject to standard closing conditions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The rebranding and acquisition represent a strategic pivot to address infrastructure weaknesses exposed by AI, such as siloed data and inflexible architectures. Everpure aims to provide a platform that reduces energy consumption while making data instantly available for high-performance computing.
