Prof S Sadagopan wins Dataquest Lifetime Achievement Award 2024

Prof Sadagopan, the Founder Director of IIIT-Bangalore, is an international academist of repute and has had a long and illustrious career influencing policy all over the world.

Prof. Sadagopan was recognized for his services in developing IIIT-B into a world class institution, along with his role in developing other institutions, his extensive impact on academia, research in diverse fields along with the impact of his academic books.

He was Founder Director of IIIT-Bangalore in 1999; he guided the establishment of IIIT-Naya Raipur, IIIT-Dharwad and MIIT in Myanmar. He was a visiting faculty at prestigious institutes like MIT, Stanford, Rutgers University, etc.

His scope of research spans “operations research, decision theory, simulation, enterprise computing, programming languages, databases, multimedia and e-governance”. He has authored multiple books on Management Information Systems, ERP etc.

Prof. Sadagopan has delivered lectures and consulted worldwide. His insights have influenced “policy makers, researchers, educators and ICT industry leaders”.

The Lifetime Achievement Award also went to Dr. Sridhar Mitta, Founder & MD, NextWealth Entrepreneurs. The Dataquest IT Person of the Year is Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways; lnformation and Broadcasting; and Electronics and Information Technology. The Pathbreaker of the Year went to Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder CEO, Garuda Aerospace.

Started in 1993 as India’s first annual IT awards show, the 32nd edition ceremony will take place on March 7 in New Delhi with an all-day conference on: India and the AI Revolution. The Who’s Who of the ICT industry is expected to attend the awards ceremony.

The Jury Chair was Raman Roy, CMD, Quatrro BPO Solutions. Dr. B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman Cyient was Jury Co-chair.
