NSDC International (NSDCI), which is a subsidiary of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has collaborated with Deakin University to unveil the Global Job Readiness Program (GJRP). This program is launched on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) platform. This initiative aims to equip youth with industry-relevant skills essential for the evolving global job market. The program is accessible through the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) platform and provides learners with user-friendly digital tools, bridging geographical barriers and democratizing high-quality education.
“In today’s evolving landscape, technological advancements, automation, and the rise of artificial intelligence are reshaping industries and job roles. Traditional career paths are giving way to more flexible, project-based work, entrepreneurship and apprenticeship are also becoming increasingly prevalent. At NSDC, we are committed to bridging the gap between Indian talent and global employers. Integrating the program into the Skill India Digital Hub is a significant milestone in our pursuit of holistic skill development for aspiring students. By leveraging this platform, I am confident that learners will gain access to high-quality skill training modules, broaden their professional network, and enhance certification, making them better equipped to succeed in international settings’’, said Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of NSDC and MD of NSDC International emphasizing on the program's significance in addressing the changing employment landscape.
The Global Job Readiness program offers two proficiency levels, that is, Foundation and Intermediate, determined through a pre-program assessment. Participants will have an opportunity to undergo live training sessions covering critical areas such as soft skills—communication, collaboration, problem-solving, innovation, digital literacy, and financial literacy. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive digital badges and certifications, which will empower them to navigate in the evolving job market effectively.
“Deakin’s collaboration with NSDC International for the Global Job Readiness Program is now live and it will be exciting to see this strategic initiative unlock the potential of India’s ambitious, young professionals. By combining Deakin's global expertise with NSDC's commitment to skill development, the program will deliver a unique set of skills that will bridge the gap between industry and skilling to meet its demands. This partnership opens doors to a future where India’s workforce stands out as globally competitive, contributing significantly to its progress”, said Ravneet Pawha, Vice President of Global Alliances and CEO of South Asia at Deakin University, expressing her excitement about the collaboration, highlighting its potential to empower India's ambitious professionals.
The collaboration between NSDC and Deakin University, initiated in November 2023, aims to enhance workplace readiness and accelerate India's growth. The program offers localized content to impart practical, real-world skills, and facilitate a seamless transition from education to employment.
