NETGEAR has introduced a new cybersecurity platform, Exium, designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) manage growing cyber threats through a unified, easy-to-manage solution.
The launch, announced during National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, combines Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and hybrid firewall capabilities into a single platform. It builds on an acquisition made earlier this year and is now available to SMEs and managed service providers (MSPs) worldwide.
Small and medium businesses continue to face a rising tide of attacks. The Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report 2025 noted over 3,000 incidents impacting SMEs—almost four times higher than for large enterprises. Many smaller firms still rely on multiple disjointed tools, making it harder to maintain consistent protection.
NETGEAR’s Exium aims to close that gap by merging zero-trust network access (ZTNA), secure web gateway (SWG), SD-WAN, and firewall technologies into one interface. The system is managed through a centralised cloud dashboard, allowing IT teams to oversee security operations, data, and devices across offices and remote locations.
Farooq Khan, Vice President of Software Security at NETGEAR, said that smaller businesses often face the same cyber challenges as large enterprises but lack the resources to manage complex systems. “By integrating Exium with our networking portfolio, we’re enabling SMEs to deploy enterprise-grade protection with less complexity,” he said.
The platform also offers dedicated tools for MSPs, including multi-tenant management and flexible service delivery models. This makes it easier for service providers to manage multiple clients securely while controlling costs.
With cyberattacks on SMEs escalating and remote connectivity expanding, Exium positions NETGEAR as a new player in enterprise-grade security tailored for smaller organisations. The company says the solution is now available through its partner ecosystem and business website.
