Among 434 registered teams from across the country, the 2023 startup Ajna distinguished itself with its innovative approach, winning a cash prize of ₹50 lakh. This recognition underscores Ajna’s contribution towards India's secure browsing ecosystem and digital independence.

Ajna's "Bharat Web Navigator" is the world’s first browser to integrate built-in support for non-custodial Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI), allowing users to manage their digital identities securely and independently. This groundbreaking feature aligns with India's push for enhanced cybersecurity and data privacy.

Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, while announcing the winners at a ceremony in New Delhi, emphasized the government's vision to transform India from a "service nation" to a "product nation" with indigenous digital solutions. He lauded startups like Ajna for pioneering secure and privacy-compliant technologies that advance India’s digital self-reliance.

Vinay Singh, Founder of Ajna Inc., expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This recognition reaffirms our vision of creating a secure, India-first internet experience. We are committed to making the country digitally self-sufficient and look forward to refining our product for mass adoption.”

Highlighting the need for an indigenous browser, Vinay added, “Global browsers often overlook Indian regulatory requests, making it imperative to have our own India-made browser. If major tech companies like Google were ever to restrict Indian users, a self-reliant, locally developed browser would ensure digital resilience and independence.”

Bharat Web Navigator boasts high-level security features, seamless compatibility across multiple platforms (iOS, Windows, and Android), and a dedicated trust store with CCA India Root certification for enhanced security. Additional features include parental controls and child-friendly browsing, ensuring a safer internet experience for users.
