The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has extended its support to over 3,600 tech startups with a total funding of ₹212 crore. This is part of the government’s broader initiative to foster a thriving startup ecosystem in India.
Under the Startup India initiative, MeitY has implemented several schemes such as TIDE 2.0, SAMRIDH, NGIS, and CoEs to provide financial and technical assistance to startups at various stages of their growth. These efforts aim to encourage innovation, create jobs, and address India’s technological challenges.
In the last five years, the government has supported over 10,000 tech startups with a total funding of approximately ₹580 crore.
With a growing number of DPIIT-recognized startups, India is emerging as a global startup hub. MeitY’s continued support is expected to further strengthen the country’s startup ecosystem.
